Food Collection 2010 Project Report

With hands from more than 70 volunteers, on November 27th, 2010 Rotaract Beijing was able to hold Food Collection in three different Carrefour across Beijing and collecting Thirty-five trolleys’ worth of food, filling up two minivans.
It was a great response from kind hearted Carrefour shoppers and the Volunteers also did a great job clustered at the entrance and exit, handing out flyers and asking shoppers to buy extra non-perishable food.
All of the food were sent to GuangAi orphanage to help them get through the winter.
Below is the details of the donations we got:
Ciyunsi numbers:
Rice: 43 units
Flour 40 units
Cooking oil: 25 units
Canned food: 32 units
Preserved meat: 37 units
Others: 459 units (!)
Total: 636 units
Fangzhuang numbers:
Rice: 37 units
Flour: 57 units
Cooking oil: 22 units
Canned food: 26 units
Preserved meat: 21 units
Others: 164 units
Total: 327 units
Shuangjing numbers:
Rice: 69 units
Flour: 38 units
Cooking oil: 15 units
Canned Food: 27 units
Preserved meat: 12 units
Others: 29 units
+
1,579 rmb of food (used to buy oil 11 units and others 115 units)
Total: 190 + 126 (1,579 rmb of money donations) = 316 units
Sum of all three:
1,153 units + 1,579 rmb of donations (used to purchase food 126 units) = 1,279 units of foods
equivalent to 2 Jinbeis FULL worth of food.
